    In this issue…

      • Daffodil Day is a day of hope for all those touched by cancer. The largest fundraising event of its kind in the southern hemisphere, Daffodil Day raises around $8 million nationally every year, providing vital funds for cancer research, prevention and support strategies. This year’s Daffodil Day is on Friday 27 August – how will you get involved?

      • Bowel cancer is the second most common cause of cancer death in South Australia. Cancer Council SA recommends screening for all Australians 50 and over every two years and provides subsidised screening kits for those people who are not within the Federal Government’s national screening program. Kevin Trevan’s story on page five serves as a reminder that bowel cancer screening is still important at 70 years of age.

      • It’s easy to get more serves of fruit and vegetables into your diet and breakfast is a great place to start, whether it’s a fruit smoothie or fruit on your cereal. Check out our breakfast tips on page four.

      • If you have been considering joining our Ambassador project, Susan Barnes’ story on page seven may provide some further inspiration.

      • Find out about future Cancer Council SA events you can support, including Call to Arms and Relay for Life.
